Who am I??

I did not study psychology nor am I a guru.

I’m someone who likes to do something about the things that bother me. And when I realised im not the only one who felt like they were not seen as the way they actually are, I decided to start this newsletter. We watch people live their ”perfect authentic” lives everyday on instagram, YouTube or whatever platform you use. This has been criticised a lot before and I’m not gonna go there.

At this point almost anyone knows things get faked on social media, but what about the real world? You might look at someone at the mall and also think: “ Wow, this person is so much more developed than me. Their personality seems so clear. Someone who doesn’t even know them could tell you what they’re all about. Of course that has no use if it doesn’t align with who they really are,

At the End of the day it’s not about perfection. It’s about you feeling happy with the life you have been given. You’re able to make the best out of it, whatever this may mean in your eyes…

Certainly how clear your personality is to someone else appears to be the smallest issue at the moment, but let me show you why I think it matters:

Why Individuality is important

Knowing yourself has always been important. However I find, over the last few years it’s risen in terms of importance. There are a lot of standards or ideal ways of life and although they might have a true origin it’s not your way of life. Not getting lost in the way the world could be and staying realistic but also never stop dreaming is something everybody can & should learn.

It might sound hard at first, staying realistic but continuing to be a dreamer…

But the more you discover, the world the more you realise it is filled with contrasts and that’s what keeps it balanced.

For that reason I read a whole lot of books, listened to a bunch of podcasts, filled my apartment with notes and now I can finally say that I came a little closer to solving the riddle of what personality and the way it’s being perceived actually come down to.

I want to share this information which is why every week there is a new post on this website that also gets posted on social media:

As you may have realised: I‘m no professional writer 🥴 , I sometimes start my sentences with and, use shortcuts, etc. That’s one of the skills I want to fire up and will get better at over time.

Incase you have no idea on why you should take advice from me?

Summary:

I would only ever take advice from someone I either look up to or of whom I know they only want the best for me.

Since in my case neither of those apply the only thing that is left for you to do is trust your guts. There is this one thing I found helpful to assess opinions:

"We only take advice from someone when we see the truth in it"

You intuitively wouldn't listen to someone who sounds like they have no Idea what they're talking about, right?
