The jaw-dropping importance of Sadness

The sequel ”Inside Out” (2015) launched by @Disney and Pixar’s follows a young girl’s emotions- Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust- navigating her move to a new city.
The film offers a fun glimpse into how balancing emotions helps shape our actions and relationships with others.

The scene occurs pretty late in the movie. Joy has been the main controlling emotion in Riley's life ever since she can remember. Everybody made sure to keep Sadness as far away from the control panel as possible- never even letting her touch it.

However this changes with one of the most meaningful scenes. Joy begins to acknowledge that Sadness also plays a crucial role in helping Riley process her emotions, leading her to tell Sadness, "Riley needs you."
